Afternoon Family Outing - -

Don't miss one of the most popular activities at The Omni Homestead Resort. On this tour, you'll be led and entertained by a naturalist through a series of beautiful waterfalls alonside a deep, Allegheny Mountain gorge trail. Learn about regional and unusual flora and fauna in this semi-tropical environment, and the medicinal and edible properties of the many local plants. This is a 1.8 mile journey on relatively flat terrain (700 ft. in elevation change). Intermediate hiking ability is necessary for this 3-hour excursion. Bottled water will be provided. $35 per person; $12 ages 5-12 NOTE: If you register a 5-12 kid, the form will charge you the full amount. When we see those registrations come through, we'll automatically process a partial refund for the difference. This is due to technical issues... don't ask, but this is the easiest way to make the discount work! |

AESC Golf Outing Shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
|
Tee off on the Old Course, home of the nation's oldest first tee in continuous use. The course, which debuted in 1892 as a 6-hole course, boasts updates by William S. Flynn and Donald Ross. Abundant fairway contouring gives most shots a side hill, uphill, or downhill lie to smallish greens, making approach shots interesting. |
"Not Golf" -- Falconry
|
Falcon hunting has a long-standing reputation for being the sport of kings, and in the Virginia countryside, it still is! Guests can participate in a field sports tradition that stretches back nearly 4,000 years. Learn the fine points of the sport with trained birds of prey, including falcons, hawks and owls. Our private one-hour demonstration will take place at the Homestead Resort's Mews, a world-class falconry facility. |
