Please plan to join AESC President Pam Williams and Mark Williams for the 68th Annual Meeting of the American Eye Study Club!  Conference dates are Sunday, July 26 through Friday, July 31, 2026. We'll be gathering at the fabulous Fairmont Chateau Hotel in Whistler, British Columbia.

About Whistler 

 
Visiting Whistler in summer (June–September) transforms the ski resort into an alpine paradise, offering hiking, mountain biking, and glacier-fed lakes, typically with warm, sunny weather. Key activities include riding the Whistler Blackcomb gondolas for mountain views, exploring the Peak-2-Peak Gondola, hiking in Garibaldi Provincial Park, and visiting the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre.  This is not our first meeting in Canada, but it is our first trek to the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics.  The Olympic Village is just 80 miles from the Vancouver, BC, airport, a 2.5 hour drive on the stunning Sea-to-Sky Highway.  And once you are there, be prepared for fun and incredible views!

Meeting Registration

You may register online or use the paper (PDF) form.  Online registration gives you the option of paying immediately with a credit card or paying later by check.  

Conference Registration Fees -- includes all group meals and receptions. 

• AESC Member -- $975
• Adult guests (spouses, significant others, guests, family members over 18 years of age) -- $875
• Teenagers (age 13 - 17) -- $425
• Younger kids (age 5 - 12) - $125
• Toddlers/infants (<5 years) -- Free

Emeritus Member Discount -- We are pleased to once again offer a special 25% discount to Emeritus members who attend only the first half or the second half of the meeting . . .

• Sunday through Tuesday night banquet, departing Wednesday morning; or
• Arriving Tuesday in time for the banquet, departing Friday

All Club members are encouraged to participate in the annual meeting by giving a talk, or by submitting an idea for a mini-symposium or panel discussion.

The Forest Lover by Susan Vreeland

In her acclaimed novels, Susan Vreeland has given us portraits of painting and life that are as dazzling as their artistic subjects. Now, in The Forest Lover, she traces the courageous life and career of Emily Carr, who—more than Georgia O'Keeffe or Frida Kahlo—blazed a path for modern women artists. Overcoming the confines of Victorian culture, Carr became a major force in modern art by capturing an untamed British Columbia and its indigenous peoples just before industrialization changed them forever. From illegal potlatches in tribal communities to artists' studios in pre-World War I Paris, Vreeland tells her story with gusto and suspense, giving us a glorious novel that will appeal to lovers of art, native cultures, and lush historical fiction.

The book club will meet on Monday morning just after the family breakfast.

Group excursions and other recreational opportunities are in the final stages of planning.  We will have details and registration for these events in the very near future.

All of the rounds of golf organized by the AESC will be $288 for each player.  This includes the required $30 gratuity for the forecaddie.
